We at Nuova ICOS, aware of the need for sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth in every sphere, especially industry, have decided to give a concrete response to these needs through our REAL FREE project.
Sustainable development
“Meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising those of the future generation” is one of the best-known definitions of sustainable development, the only possible model for an ethical and economically, environmentally and socially responsible business. New ICOS is committed to this by respecting humans, animals and nature, including through the development of renewable energy production facilities. Environmental sustainability involves the responsible use of natural resources and the adoption of practices that minimize impact on the environment, promoting a balance between human activities and ecosystems. This is essential to preserve resources such as fresh water, fossil fuels and forests, ensuring the survival of future generations and reducing greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change.
The REAL FREE project
So, since sustainability is a practical matter, we have activated the REAL FREE project, which aims to develop a tanning system that does not use products containing heavy metals, and to import raw hides only from countries whose production standards meet strict regulatory criteria. In addition, only those who can provide true lot traceability are registered in our supplier register. Our focus on the origin of raw materials is evidenced by the “Raw Material Traceability Certification” for sheep finished leathers for apparel, footwear and leather goods, which we have obtained through our practical commitment to environmental, social and business ethics.
